This group exhibition brings together David Alfaro Siqueiros and twelve contemporary artists working in Mexico to reconsider nature as a site of aesthetic and political struggle. At its center is the first-ever standalone presentation of Siqueiros' Flora Alucinante (1968-1970), removed from its original mural composition and shown alongside his Floresta Tropical (1973), in conversation with painting, sculpture, video, and photography by Alejandra Venegas, Celeste, Denise Julieta, Enrique Macias, Ernesto Solana, Galia Eibenschutz, Javier Barrios, Juan Carlos León, Lorena Ancona, Melanie Smith, Rafiki Sánchez, and Scott Galván. The show rethinks the tropical landscape not as exotic image but as territory of resistance and memory.
