Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris

Originally opened in 1912 as Teatro Xicoténcatl, this historic theater was designed by architects Federico Mariscal and Ignacio Capetillo with an unusually large capacity for its time — 1,500 seats. The interior is a study in early 20th-century grandeur: ornate frescoes across the ceiling, elegant lamps, and a classic multi-level layout with palco-style balconies radiating from the main floor.

The acoustics hold up well for everything from traditional concerts to modern shows, and the space stays clean and well-maintained throughout. Located on Donceles just past the Legislative Assembly building, it's a short walk from Allende metro station (Line 2). Valet parking is available at the entrance, and there's an elevator and ramps for accessibility.
