Built in 1968 for the Mexico City Olympics, this iconic indoor arena — designed by architect Félix Candela — has hosted everything from world-class concerts to bullfights, trade shows, and sporting events for over five decades. With a capacity for thousands and a distinctive domed roof, it's one of the city's most important venues for international artists and large-scale events.

The arena is easily accessible via metro (Velódromo station), though arriving by car requires patience — parking runs around 350 to 400 pesos and traffic gets heavy on event nights. Inside, you'll find food and drink vendors (a hot dog runs about 150 pesos, beer around 200 pesos), clean bathrooms, and card payment accepted at most concessions. The acoustics can be uneven with some echo depending on where you're seated, but the energy during concerts is undeniable. Arrive early to avoid congestion at entry, and note that exit doors may differ from where you entered, requiring a walk around the perimeter to reach your car.
