The Museo de Historia Natural y Cultura Ambiental spans five exhibition halls in Chapultepec's second section, walking visitors through the origin of the universe, the formation of Earth, evolution, and biodiversity. Interactive displays and 360° projection domes bring topics like marine life to scale—the whale experience is a standout. The museum holds a large collection of insects, butterflies, rocks, minerals, and a full Diplodocus skeleton replica.
Admission is affordable and includes same-day entry to the nearby Cárcamo de Dolores museum. Count on two to three hours to cover the main halls comfortably. There's no café inside, so bring water. A specialized library is open for on-site consultation, and lockers are available. The museum is closed Mondays and accepts cash only at the ticket counter.
