Opened in 1993 inside the former convent and church of Santa Teresa la Antigua, this contemporary art space focuses on experimental, non-object practices — installation, performance, sound art, video, and multimedia. The building itself is a baroque monument with the tallest dome in Centro Histórico, featuring vivid colonial-era frescoes that contrast sharply with the rotating contemporary exhibitions below.
The floor tilts noticeably as you walk through — this is one of the most dramatically sunken buildings in the historic center, a physical reminder of the city's shifting foundations. Free admission, and the small rear courtyard includes archaeological remains from the colonial period.
