Opened in November 1994, Centro Nacional de las Artes (Cenart) sprawls across extensive grounds in Coyoacán as Mexico City's major hub for arts education, research, and public programming. The complex houses multiple schools teaching everything from dance and theater to cinema and music, alongside exhibition galleries, performance venues including Teatro de las Artes and Foro de las Artes, and a branch of Cineteca Nacional for independent and arthouse cinema.

The sprawling green spaces are popular for picnics and casual hangouts, and the cultural calendar runs year-round with free and ticketed events — live music, contemporary dance, visual art exhibitions, theater, and interdisciplinary festivals. The campus also includes a bookstore, an art supply shop, dance clothing retailers, and Passmar café. Accessible from metro General Anaya (line 2) or Ermita (line 12), it sits near Estudios Churubusco and Canal 22.
