Founded in 1990 on the grounds of a former collector's residence, this theater and cultural complex is home to a genuine Gothic chapel — transplanted piece by piece to Mexico City — that now hosts concerts with exceptional acoustics. The main Teatro Helénico seats 397 and stages professional theater productions alongside Foro La Gruta, a smaller black box space dedicated to experimental work and emerging artists.
The Gothic chapel, donated to the Instituto Cultural Helénico in 1979, is the star attraction for classical music performances, particularly the Camerata Opus 11's production of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, which has run over 200 times. The complex also runs theater workshops and master classes, and houses a large bookstore and café worth visiting even if you're not catching a show. Guided chapel tours are available.
