Centro Cultural Elena Garro

Opened in October 2012, this cultural center transforms an early 20th-century Coyoacán mansion into a community space built around books and cultural programming. The architecture blends the original casona with striking concrete and glass additions, including book-shaped luminaries that light the interior.

Inside you'll find a Fondo de Cultura Económica bookstore with a dedicated children's section, a small auditorium hosting concerts and theater performances, and multiple rooms for workshops and presentations. The on-site café spills onto a terrace and patio — board games available to borrow — and dogs are welcome throughout the bookstore.
