Centro Cultural El Rule

Located on the first floor of what was, until 1984, the tallest building in Mexico City — constructed by Cornish mining magnate Francisco Rule in the early 20th century. The building started as a two-story structure atop part of a divided 19th-century monastery before Rule added three more floors and stamped his name on it.

Today it's a sprawling community cultural center offering free admission, rotating exhibitions, live music events, and a range of workshops. The back terrace and sculpture garden make a quiet escape from the Centro Histórico's constant hum. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with occasional evening programming.
