Bosque de Chapultepec

At 1,700 acres, Bosque de Chapultepec is one of the largest urban parks in the Americas — larger than Central Park and home to museums, a zoo, lakes with boat rentals, and enough green space to spend multiple days exploring. The park is divided into three sections: the first (open Tuesday to Sunday, 5am to 6pm) holds the Museo Nacional de Antropología, the Castillo de Chapultepec, and the lake where you can rent paddle boats; the second and third sections stay open 24 hours and offer quieter trails and picnic areas.

A small train loops through the first section, making stops at key landmarks — useful if you're short on time or want to scope out what to see before walking back. Vendors sell snacks and souvenirs throughout, with prices running a bit high near the main attractions. Squirrels are everywhere, and locals come for everything from weekend picnics to remote work sessions under the trees.
