Hidden behind a curtain door on Luis Moya with no sign outside, Bósforo is a dimly-lit mezcalería where the owner doubles as DJ, spinning a genre-fluid mix of Afro, tropical, psychedelic, jazz, and retro sounds. The bar stocks artisanal mezcal and sotol from over 40 small-batch producers, plus house vermouth and gin tonics that regulars swear by.
The vibe is dark and intimate — candles and vintage bulbs only, minimal seating downstairs, a low cushioned tapanco loft upstairs with floor cushions and a small table. The small space fills up fast, especially on weekends; arrive before 8pm to snag a spot at the bar. No food, but they set out grasshoppers and peanuts to snack on while you drink.
