Arena México is the cathedral of lucha libre — home to CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre), the world's oldest professional wrestling promotion, which has been presenting matches here since the company's founding over 92 years ago. The energy on fight nights is electric: the crowd lives every move, screaming porras for their favorite luchadores while masked wrestlers fly off the ropes in choreographed battles between técnicos and rudos.

Shows run Tuesday and Friday nights, with Tuesday drawing smaller crowds and better seat availability. Even the cheapest seats offer solid sightlines to the ring. Arrive early if you want to grab food or drinks inside (moderately priced beer, less impressive micheladas) or snap photos. Masks are sold outside the arena ranging from budget souvenirs to premium collectibles. Bathrooms are clean and stocked with paper. The arena itself shows its age — worn seats and dated facilities — but the spectacle and the crowd's unfiltered passion more than make up for it.
